Message from Administration
Our Student Council did an excellent job with the Spirit Week this week! It was amazing how many students and staff joined in the fun with their colourful socks today. We are looking forward to what the rest of the week will bring!

Our School Council was also busy organizing our Direct Donation Fundraiser. The fundraiser runs until January 2, 2026. Please check the email from the school for details. Help us reach our goal and invest in students. Every donation, no matter the amount, makes a difference.
Please continue to remind your child(ren) to dress appropriately for the weather. We still have many students outside at recess who are not wearing hats, mitts/gloves, boots, or snowpants. We make daily announcements reminding them not to forget to put these on (and to zip up their coats) when headed outside - 30 minutes can feel like a very long time if you aren’t dressed properly. Missing some of that outdoor apparel already?? Our Lost and Found is already quite full! Please feel free to pop into the office and let us know if you need to take a peek at the Lost and Found bin. Take a look a the Mabel’s Labels information below for a tried and true way to label belongings so that you can ensure they are returned if misplaced.
It is hard to believe that 2025 is coming to an end. We wish all of our families a wonderful winter break! We look forward to seeing all of our students back after the holidays and to our continued partnership for the remainder of the 2025-2026 school year. Thank you for all of your support, positive comments and feedback. We are so fortunate to be part of the Donald Cousens P.S. family!
Have a wonderful winter break!

This month’s Library Makerspace Challenge invited students to get creative using Plus-Plus blocks! The challenge focused on designing and building different holiday-themed images, encouraging imagination, problem-solving, and hands-on learning. Students explored shapes, patterns, and simple engineering concepts while expressing their creativity. It was wonderful to see the variety of ideas and enthusiasm they brought to the challenge.

Books Over the Break:
- Students are welcome to borrow library books to enjoy over the holidays. We encourage reading during the break!
- Please help remind your child to take good care of all borrowed books by keeping them in a safe place, away from food, pets, and liquids. All books should be returned in good condition when school resumes in January.
Thank you for encouraging their love of books and learning at home!
- Ms. Channa
